About Velodrome Finance
Velodrome launched on Optimism in June 2022, introducing a ve(3,3) model with VELO emissions and veVELO governance. Its V2 upgrade in June 2023 added concentrated liquidity and dynamic fees, while maintaining backward compatibility. In March 2024, it expanded to the OP Superchain network Metal, becoming a cross-chain MetaDEX. A major milestone was Binance listing VELODROME in 2024, increasing accessibility. The protocol also pioneered veNFT trading/lending plans, enhancing governance token utility.
Bearish: In September 2026, Velodrome and Aerodrome communities merged to support the Aero launch. VELO is set to cease trading on Binance by September 13, losing its main centralized venue and reducing liquidity. Official social accounts and Discord migrate to Aero, ending VELO's independent status. The merger allocates only 5.5% to VELO; the final conversion ratio is undefined, and the delayed Q2 launch leaves execution risk.
